There comes a time in every girl’s life when she needs bit of luxury. There also comes a time when she needs to full out max the luxury level and 66 Saint Paul’s boutique hotel in Valletta is the place to indulge.
From the gorgeous reception area with its sumptuous velvet furniture to the stunning roof top plunge pool and cocktail bar, this 16th century former palazzo has every modern luxurious touch and feel you could ever imagine or want, while still being every inch a palace.
The courtyard is now a beautiful café with balconies overlooking the central space, a retractable roof and a fabulous sense of timelessness. Like stepping into a different world, 66 Saint Paul’s makes you feel like the best version of yourself.
Rooms are elegant and oh so comfortable. The beds are divine and the bathrooms are to die for. Within minutes, I was luxuriating in a hot tub with bubbles and more bubbles. I told you I needed a luxury fix!
The details are what makes the design of the hotel so special. A beautiful decanter and glasses with complimentary Johnny Walker; wonderful zebra design fabrics; perfect lighting and mirrors; elegant prints and billowing curtains. My colourful scarf works so well as a colour pop, as a cover up and as an alternative to a cardigan or jacket when you want to lounge out but be elegant and cosy.
When you get to find a place like 66 Saint Paul’s, a place that makes you feel so good, then repay the compliment by looking and feeling your most beautiful. I let out my inner Coco Chanel with these amazing Mary Janes from Jimmy Choo: glossy black suede and dramatic pointed toes show who’s the boss lady.
My leopard print shirt dress is perfect both day to night and certainly makes it easy to look great without taking all day to get ready. Shiny hair and strong lips and you’re good to go.
66 Saint Paul’s provides a beautiful breakfast buffet, freshly prepared each day. With a pretty dining room or the airy courtyard café to sit in, non-stop coffee and a wonderful choice of pastries and savouries, it’s still another world.
The only downside is, that at some point, you have to go back to reality. Still, I now know where to go for my ultra -luxury fix.
