London as a city is huge – in every way. There is so much to see and do that you literally would need a month to even begin to get close.
The Nena Lightning Tour Guide is here to help: start with a perfect cup of tea of course and then head off to the River Thames to see the Houses of Parliament. Jump on the London Eye and slowly view the city from the sky. Stroll up Birdcage Walk and arrive at Buckingham Palace. If the flags are flying, the Queen is home!
A little more walking brings you to shopping heaven in the streets of Knightsbridge with their white stucco houses that make you think of wedding cake. Round to Chelsea and the famous Kings Road. This is where you show your style by the tiny and pretty painted houses - a mere £6million+ will buy you one. Everyone cool, beautiful, rich, famous or all four has lived in Chelsea, including the late, great and my beloved, David Bowie.
More tea of course, as we’re being English and then take the bus to Regent Street. A beautiful wide street with Piccadilly Circus at one end and Regent’s Park a very long way up at the other. A lot of shops and restaurants, beautiful buildings with history and so many people to see as you walk.
Or stay on the bus and count the bridges until you get to Tower Bridge – and if you’re lucky, you’ll see it raised for the tall ships to pass under. From here, you’re so close to Hoxton and Shoreditch, Islington and the newly revitalised King’s Cross but that’s a whole new story.
Nena’s top tip for London. Take all your clothes as the weather changes every five minutes. Seriously! No wonder the English talk about it.
