One of the things I love about Valletta is the opportunity to be in a beautiful Baroque city, built over 400 years ago but still to be surrounded by the best bits of modern life. So, imagine my delight at being invited to stay at Palais Le Brun: this is one of the most elegant luxury hotels in Valletta and a stay here is a good start to getting that balance back.
And, as always, my wardrobe was high on my list. A hotel as beautiful as this calls for something a bit special. I truly believe that every girl should have a least one yellow dress in her collection and this has to be one of the more iconic styles. The high neck, asymmetrical hem and beautiful draping make this dress a winner wherever you are.
Everything about this hotel is discreet and calm. From the entrance to the rooftop pool, you feel like you are in a different world and far away from the noise, light and bustle of the city outside. The palace was originally a family house for a Knight of St John and you do feel more like you are visiting a stunningly beautiful home rather than a hotel.
I love fabric and the choice and colour of the material used at Palais Le Brun is just amazing. Soft velvets and silky smooth cottons are all around and the bedlinen is so beautiful that it makes you just want to get into bed immediately you arrive! However, it is worth staying up a little longer to visit the roof top pool and enjoy a drink at the little bar. The views are 360 across the city and out over the Med. Just a beautiful and relaxing space for privacy and quiet.
As always, the food was high on my list and there is a great restaurant in-house. Breakfast is only available to guests and there is a wonderful choice of a buffet or a cook to order menu.
I love my floaty, romantic dress of nudey pink and grey. It is actually a really dramatic dress despite its soft colours and needs no more than great shoes and smokey make up for you to look amazing.
